KAFPodcasters

As the name implies, KAFPodcasters is written in highly optimized PHP code and uses a lightning fast MySQL database backend.

• PHP: PHP 4.0.2+(Safe_Mode = OFF)
• Database MySQL 3.23+
• For Search Engine Optimized URLs : Your server must have .htaccess file support and must be able to execute .htaccess files.

Testing Your Web Server for Compatibility

If you already have hosting or your own server then create a blank file named "phpinfo.php", put this code into it: <?php phpinfo(); ?>, upload this file to your webserver and run it in your browser (e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php). In the very first line it should say "PHP Version X.X.X", this will be the version number of PHP that is installed.

Scroll down to the Configuration / PHP Core section and find the safe_mode variable
If it is "on", ask your host if they will disable it for you, or consider switching to a host that will (safe_mode prevents scripts from writing files to disk, hence uploads are not possible).

Finally, scroll down to the section titled "mysql" to find your version of MySQL (Client API version).
